Who it's for

For builders, and the businesses they help people find.

If your software answers "what can we do nearby?", Tailend is the local layer under it. If you're a place being found, Spaces shows what they see.

The problem

Local data is the hard part.

Anyone who has built "what can we do nearby?" has hit these four walls.

The long tail gets lost

Big platforms surface the same famous places. The small ones, often the best, never make it in.

46% of the organizers we cover publish five listings or fewer.

A row of doors getting smaller, the last tiny one lit warm from inside.
A door with three different notices taped at odd angles.

It's messy

Flyers, calendar widgets, booking pages. Everyone publishes their own way.

Reading it right is costly

6,500+listings, each read from its source

A desk calendar with one day crossed out and an arrow moving it to the next day.

It changes near the date

Times move and sessions fill. Last month's check won't do this week.

98%of one-time events in the next 48h re-checked in the last day

How it works

Confirmed at the source, or not served.

An agent that recommends a cancelled class is worse than one that says nothing. Here's one listing, start to finish.

Read from the source, once

Flyers, calendar widgets and feeds, read where the organizer posts them and turned into one typed shape.

Example: a hand-made flyer that says "Sunshine Story Hour, Sat the 17th, 10:30ish, little ones 2 to 5, $5 at the door, Pine Hollow rec ctr" becomes one listing with a local start time, age_min 2 and age_max 5 as numbers, a price of 5 in USD, a place, and a verified_at time.

A sample listing; the venue is made up.

Re-checked as the date gets close

The nearer the day, the more often it's confirmed.

A timeline from the day a listing appears to the day of the event. Confirmations get closer together as the day approaches, and the listing's verified_at moves forward each time.

Every listing carries verified_at.

Withheld until confirmed

Source gone quiet? It leaves your results until it's confirmed again.

A listing card whose source stops answering. It greys out and is withheld from results, then returns once the source confirms it again, with a new verified_at.

Your agent never repeats something stale.

Build it yourself, or don't

What you'd be signing up for.

Local data looks like a weekend scraper. It turns into a standing job.
